LOUIS MARTIN
The father of five daughters, Louis Martin is a quiet devout man who wanted to be a monk, but became instead a watchmaker. When his wife Zélie dies of breast cancer at the age of 47, he is devastated, but goes on to raise the young girls on his own. Because he knows that Thérèse is the most broken by the loss of her mother, he takes her particularly under his wing, protecting her and calling her "his queen."

His productions have also been broadcast internationally and have received numerous awards. Defilippis began his career as a Shakespearean actor in Festivals throughout the U.S. "I was very moved to play the father of Thérèse. Their relationship is very tender, and since I am the father of teenage girls, all of her dilemmas seem familiar. My own daughters need comfort and reassurance late at night, too."
